The purposes for which the corporation is formed are to encourage communication and cooperation among artists, art teachers, art students and others engaged in all forms of artistic activities; to hold competitions and exhibitions; to promote the study and improvement of art forms; to establish workshops and conduct lectures; to foster a development in the community of an appreciation of art; to encourage interest in art by administering, an art center; to acquire and maintain buildings of historical significance; and to do any other act or thing incidental to or connected with the foregoing purposes or advancement thereof, but not for the pecuniary profit or financial gain of its members.
